Van Wolfswinkel will not make a switch to Norwich should the club be relegated

Ricky Van Wolfswinkel’s agent Louis Laros revealed the Dutch striker will not join Norwich, if the team loses its top-flight status.

The Canaries have reached the pre-contract agreement about the move of the 24-year-old player to Carrow Road in summer, with a four-year contract prepared for the player in England.

However there is a chance that player will not join the Canaries, as they are still facing the threat of relegation. Louis Laros said: “There is a special clause in the deal accepted by all parties that stipulates if Norwich leave the Premier League then the future of Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be open again. That is the reality, but we are confident in the ability of the English club to remain in the top division.

“For now Ricky is only thinking about Sporting and helping them to get results. At the end of the season he will start to focus on Norwich,” he added.
