Victorious start for Vilanova

Victorious start for Vilanova

In the first game under the helm of Tito Vilanova Barcelona won Hamburg 2-1, despite lacking a number of leading players.

Dani Alves scored the first goal in the fixture, standing out with his performance during the match. After the game Vilanova praised the player, claiming that all the rumors about the possible transfer were groundless, underlying that Alves is’ is the best right-back in the world. I’ve never known a full-back who can make such an impact on a game’.

The unexpected trauma received by Marc Muniesa was the bad news for Barca. The player tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and after additional clinical testing done on Wednesday the medical staff stated the player would be on sidelines for around six months.
