Villa to receive treatment for kidney stones

Daily Mail reports Barcelona forward David Villa’s disasters come in rapid succession, as he was taken in hospital due to the necessity to undergo medical treatment for kidney stones.

He was taken to hospital just after fighting his way back into the first team. Villa has been included in the starting eleven against Getafe by Tito Vilanova as he has been impressed with professionalism and commitment shown by Villa at the training sessions. The 31-year-old Spain international has repaid his manager’s faith scoring a goal in Barcelona 6-1 demolition of Azulones. The player is a major doubt for a Saturday’s La Liga game against Granada.

Spain’s all-time leading goalscorer has recently expressed his frustration at lack of the first-team football under Tito Vilanova and was eager to leave the club in January. He struggled to regain his first-team spot ever since recovering from a long-term injury that kept him on the sidelines entire last season.
