Dynamo Kiev 2 -0 Dinamo Zagreb

A newly appointed Dynamo Kiev coach Oleh Blokhin brought a long-awaited win to the Ukrainian side. Oleh Gusev set the score early in the first half. Kiev scored once more in the second half, yet after the match Blokhin was not entirely satisfied with the end result, claiming that his team could have scored three more.

FC Porto 1-0 Paris St Germain

Porto player James Rodríguez netted the ball only in the 83rd minute, yet the Portuguese club controlled the game, making 30 shots on target compared to 6 PSG attempts. PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti was disappointed after the game, stating his team faced a more experienced side.

Arsenal 3-1 Olympiacos FC

Arsenal started slowly, but gradually took control over the match, scoring an opening goal in the 42nd minute. Despite Olympiacos player Kostas Mitroglou headed an equalizer, in the second half Arsenal found the target two more times, getting the second win in two matches.

Schalke 04 2-2 Montpellier

Montpellier played with 10 men on the field for most on the second half, and equalized in the very last minute of the match. Montpellier manager claimed the players struggled until the very end and deserved the point.

Zenit 2-3 AC Milan

Milan bounced back after conceding two goals in the first half, and finally defeated Zenit in St Petersburg. The Russian ream had a record of 16 unbeaten games at home in the European competitions, but Milan managed to win in a tough game and grab 3 points.

Anderlecht 0-3 Malaga

Malaga keeps producing surprising results in the Champions League in Group C, beating the Belgian team. This year’s newcomers impressed many defeating FC Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 in the previous round, and after the Wednesday’s victory, topped the group. Anderlecht coach admitted after the game his team did not even create a chance in the game.

Ajax 1-4 Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo showed his best performance in the game against the Eredivisie champions, scoring a hat-trick as his club dominated on the pitch throughout the whole match. Real coach José Mourinho stated he was impressed with his side.

Manchester City 1-1 Borussia Dortmund

Manchester City grabbed a point thanks to late penalty scored by Mario Balotelli. Borussia performed brilliantly but did not manage to convert the chances it created into goals. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini admitted his team played worse than the German side, adding: ‘If we want to play at the top level in the Champions League, we need more than we showed tonight.’
