Weekend Premier League: 3 clubs on top

Chelsea cemented top spot after beating Norwich 4-1. The Blues were put behind as Grant Holt produced a 15-yard shot and opened the score, but only 3 minutes later Fernando Torres equalized with a strong header. Frank Lampard and Eden Hazard put the capital side ahead in the first half, yet it was Ivanovic who completed the victory in the second half and now Chelsea holds a lead in the Premier League. After the match Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo claimed he was satisfied that his side is at the top of the Premier League, adding: ‘we have so many more games to play but we’re in a good position and have a lot of confidence.’

Manchester United clashed with Newcastle and managed to net the ball two times in the first 15 minutes with two headers from corners. All United strikers including Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney and Van Persie created chances to score, putting pressure on Newcastle defense line throughout 90 minutes. The third goal came after Tom Cleverley’s effort and ensured United celebrated their fifth victory in seven Premier League matches and reached the second place on the table.
