Wenger postpones contract negotiations

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has notified the board that he has no intention to open the talks over the extension of his contract until the end of the season.

63 year-old Wenger enters the final year of his current contract and wants to assess his achievements at the end of the season before starting the negotiations of a new deal. “If you ask me always about my future, I can only give you one answer,” Wenger said. “I always respected my contracts, and that is it.”

At the moment The Gunners lie in the 10th spot in the England Premier League. However Arsenal board is convinced that Wenger will turn the things around and finish in the top-four for the 16th successive year.

Arsene is a superb coach, no doubts. Highly respect him. Many teams around Europe would want him in the squad.. but the question is whether he would be able to handle the stars with ambitions and character, like Rooney, Tevez, Ribery, Ronaldo, etc., not just the boys..
