World Cup 2014 qualifiers’ preview: Hungary vs Romania

World Cup 2014 qualifiers’ preview: Hungary vs Romania

Hungary set to face Romania in front of the empty stadium in Budapest in the key match of the group D. FIFA has decided to play the match without spectators due to the racist chanting by Hungarian fans.

Hungary set to pass a tough test posed by Romania in their bid to qualify for World Cup for the first time since 1986. Second-placed Hungary, who suffered one defeat and secured three victories in their four games, are three points behind the leaders Netherlands and are equal on points with third-placed Romania. They have good chances of reaching the play-offs for the World Cup.

Hungary team news:

Jozsef Varga will miss the clash against Romania due to injury.

Romania team news:

Coach Victor Pițurcă has formed a relatively young team that is capable to compete against even strongest opposition despite the lack of experience.

Romania will miss their forward Ciprian Marica, who will be on the sidelines because of injury.
