Netherlands have all but qualified to the round of 16 after beating stubborn Australia.

After terrific performance in the opening game against World Cup champions Spain, Holland were dubbed to crush underdogs Australia. However, the Dutch survived a scare in the second half having to come from behind.

Arjen Robben opened the scoring on 20 minutes after another half-a-pitch spurt. However, Australia veteran Tim Cahill levelled straight after the restart. Captain Mile Jedinak converted a penalty in the beginning of the second half to put The Socceroos in front. It took Louis van Gaal’s men four minutes to equalize through Robin van Persie, while substitute Memphis Depay netted a winner on 68 minutes.

Netherlands now top the group with six points and have a solid goal difference ahead of the last match against Chile, who play Spain later on.
