World Cup. Group B. Spain say good-bye to the Cup after a shock 0-2 defeat from Chile

spain-v-chile.jpg

Spain’s six-year dominance in World football is over now as they slump to another miserable defeat in Brazil.

The great selection under Vicente del Bosque, as we knew it for six years, is gone after Spain was disillusioned by feisty Chile side. Furia Roja were playing in red, but were nowhere close to Furia, not any kind of a beast. The starting humiliation from Netherlands turned out to be consistent, and Chile proved that Spain aer simply not up to the World Cup, they looked exhausted and lacking ideas, but what was more depressive is their defensive performance. Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique, Javi Martinez, Jordi Alba, Cesar Azpilicueta looked like they met each other for the first time. Experienced midfield in Xabi Alonso and Sergio Busquets was no help.

Everything has its end, and Chile put an end to Spain’s dominance. Or, more likely, they commited a suicide at Maracana.
