World Cup qualifier England 1-1 Poland

World Cup qualifier England 1-1 Poland

Roy Hodgson’s men returned from the Polish capital with one point.

FIFA World Cup qualifier had been rescheduled because of a waterlogged pitch and in Wednesday it came in a 1-1 draw.

Wayne Rooney scored an opener on the half-hour mark, which was his 30th goal for the national team. England preserved the lead until the 70th minute when Kamil Glik headed home an equalizer.

If the game taken as a whole England didn’t show a very creditable performance and Hodgson gave an excuse about that saying that such a result was due to rain delay, the pitch was playable though it wasn’t suitable for quick passing.

After four matches they remain unbeaten with eight points but Montenegro stay on the heels of England with seven points.

England will make it to Brazil, no doubts, and will even make it to the round of 16, probably to 1/8. At most. But that would be the limit. As usual.
