World Cup qualifiers. Key CONMEBOL Fixtures: Bolivia vs Argentina
CONMEBOL qualifying leaders Argentina are visiting La Paz in a bid to avenge for the humiliating 6-1 defeat several years ago.
Recent Bolivia form:
Bolivia were demolished 5-0 by Colombia at Estadio Metropolitano and are currently lying in last but one place in CONMEBOL table with 8 points from 10 games. Team’s morale is understandably low at the movement, however the homeground advantage (and Argentinians knows better than anyone that it is really difficult to quickly adjust to heights of La Paz) could help Bolivia to hold the mighty Argentinians to a draw. And yet only by a long stretch of imagination could one assume the Bolivians can pose a real threat to the current Argentina side.
Recent Argentina form:
Argentina thrashed 3-0 Venezuela in their latest 2014 Worlc Cup qualifier and are determined to avoid the complacency in the forthcoming game against the Bolivians.
Bolivia team news:
Goalkeeper Carlos Arias has picked up a knock during 5-0 defeat at the hands of Columbia and will definitely miss the clash against Argentina.
Defender Ronald Raldes has returned, having served his suspension in the last game.
Argentina team news:
Fernando Gago will be out of the encounter against the Bolivians after suffering muscle strain, with Ever Banega likely to fill his position in midfield. Angel Di Maria has served his suspension against Venezuela and will return into first XI at the expense of Walter Montillo.
