World Cup qualifiers’ results (CONCACAF): USA go top after win over Panama

USA’s crucial 2-0 victory over Panama in Seattle allowed Klinsmann’s men to move clear in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying group.

Jozy Altidore has broken the deadlock in the 35th minute, while Eddie Johnson putting the game beyond doubt in the 53rd minute.

The result means USA move two points clear of Costa Rica in the table, while Panama dropped to the fifth spot.

Elsewhere Mexico were held to a third successive scoreless draw by Costa Rica at the Estadio Azteca and are lying in the third spot, behind second-placed Costa Rica on goal difference. Honduras climbed up to fourth spot, following a 2-0 home win over Jamaica.
