Yaya Toure: we are on course to defend the Premier league title

Daily Mail reports Manchester City box-to-box midfielder Yaya Toure is determined to help his team pull back into the Premier League title race.

Brothers Yaya and Kolo Toure have returned to Man City headquarters after spending around a month in South Africa on an international duty with Ivory Coast. Despite the Citizens’ remaining unbeaten, they drew two games and slipped to nine points behind Manchester United topping the table.

However, Toure believes Man City are able to gap the nine points’ deficit in the same fashion they did the previous year, to claim the Premier league title for the first time in 44 years. He said: “We are further behind than we’d like, of course, but all we need to do is think about last season to know what is possible. United have a strong squad and, on paper, they have an easier run in than we do but the title race is a long way from finished. It only takes a couple of results to go our way and we’re right back in it - I’m sure we’ll come back.”
