Abdou Traoré is a Malian footballer who operates as a midfielder at Bordeaux since 2009/10 according to his contract.
He began his football career with the youth team of his native town’s club. He made his debut in Cercle Olympique de Bamako in 2006. In July Girondins acquired the footballer; Abdou participated in the Championnat de France amateur.
In the 2007/08 UEFA Europa League the footballer first appeared in a professional match. On 19 December 2007 in a match against Athenian Panathinaikos Traoré substituted David Jemmali in the 17th minute. Laurent Blanc, the coach of the team, thought well of the Malian, therefore he let Abdou practice the following year with the first squad. In the May of 2008 Traoré signed his first professional contract. In the following season he played 18 games for the club, 13 of them in Ligue 1. Besides he participated in UEFA Europa League, in Ligue 1 and Football League Cup. In the 2010/11 season he was released on loan to Nice.
Traoré featured for the Mali national team. His debut in the national team took place on 11 February 2009 when the Angola national team was defeated.
