Abdoulay Konko is a right back for Lazio. He was born on 9 March 1984 in Marseille, France.
Abdoulay’s youth career started at Martigues youth academy where he studied and played for many years. In 2002 Abdoulay was scouted by Juventus youth agents and quickly agreed to move to the Turin club. During 2 years the young French defender studied at Juve football academy until he was finally ready to start off his pro football career.
In 2004 Abdoulay signed his first professional contract with Juventus but was immediately loaned out to Crotone. During 2 seasons at the new club Abdoulay was a key right back and scored 7 goals in 74 appearances.
In 2006 Abdoulay signed a 1-year contract with Serie A Siena. During the season though he made only 14 appearances and scored 1 goal.
The 2007/08 season was the most successful for the French defender as he joined Genoa, quickly became a key defender and scored 3 goals in 37 matches during the season. In 2008 Konko signed a long-term contract with La Liga side Sevilla and played there until 2011 but failed to become a regular in the first team totaling 44 appearances and 3 goals.
In 2011 Abdoulay again signed for Genoa but stayed at the club for only half a season with a total of 13 appearances. In the summer of 2011 Konko transferred to his current S.S. Lazio and played 26 matches for the club so far.
