Adam Johnson is a winger of Manchester City. He was born on 14 July 1987 in Sunderland, England.
Adam’s youth career began in 1997, when he joined the Newcastle United academy. Till 1999 Johnson was a trainee and a player of the youth team. In 1999 Adam Johnson was invited to the Middlesbrough academy that got interested in the winger during one of the junior tournaments. From 1999 till 2004 Adam performed for the Middlesbrough youth team.
In 2004 Johnson was asked to join the first team. During first two seasons, Adam occasionally played as a regular, but in general he was mostly used as a substitute, which prevented him from gaining optimal shape. That is why in 2006 Johnson was sent on loan to Leeds United, where he spent one season (till 2007) and made only five appearances for the temporary team.
In 2007 Adam continued his career, joining Watford on loan, where he played 12 games and netted five goals.
After returning to Middlesbrough in 2008, Johnson began to get involved in the matches more intensively. All in all, he made 96 appearances and found the net 13 times.
In 2010 Adam Johnson received an offer from Manchester City. The player accepted did not hesitate and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract. From 2010 Adam took part in 73 games and made 11 goals.
From 2006 till 2009 he was capped 27 times for the England national U-19 and U-23 football team, kicking three goals. From 2010 the English winger played for the national England team, making 11 appearances and delivering two goals.
