Adam Sarota is a midfielder of Utrecht. He was born on 28 December 1988 in Gordonvale, Australia. The footballer has a dual citizenship – Australian and Polish.
Adam started to play football in amateur Brisbane Roar, where he was voted the Player of the Year in the 2008/2009 season. The management of the club extended the player’s contract till 31 June 2010 immediately after. Sarota’s senior début came on 20 September 2009 in the home 2-4 loss to Perth Glory.
On 2 April 2010, the footballer and his two teammates Michael Zullo and Tommy Oar transferred to Dutch side Utrecht, where Adam continues to perform up till now. The midfielder’s maiden Eredivisie appearance came on 29 August 2010 in the away 4-0 loss to Twente. Sarota made his European début in the European qualification match versus Albanian side KF Tirana, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The player took part in 25 games for Utrecht as of November 2012.
On 27 August 2010, the Polish Football Association offered Adam a place in the Poland national team, but the footballer rejected the offer. At the beginning of 2011, the midfielder was called up to the Australia national team and made his first international appearance on 27 March 2011 in the friendly versus Germany.
