Admir Mehmedi is a forward, born on 16 March 1991 in Gostivar, SFR Yugoslavia.
He took up playing football at AC Bellinzona in 1999, subsequently moving to FC Winterthur. In 2006 the scouts of FC Zürich noticed the young footballer and offered Mehmedi to join the club. In 2008 Admir was promoted to the senior squad. The same year FC Zürich won the Swiss Super League with Mehmedi playing a prominent role in the first team. During his four-year stay at Zürich he featured in 84 games and scored 19 goals.
On 6 January 2012, Admir penned a four-year contract with FC Dynamo Kyiv. On 4 March 2012, Mehmedi debuted for the club in the game against Arsenal Kyiv. On 11 March 2012, Admir notched his maiden goal for Dynamo in the fixture against FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih. He was a regular starter for the Ukrainian club but in the summer 2013 received an offer to join Freiburg on loan. Later on Mehmedi penned a permanent contract with the German outfit.
Mehmedi celebrated his debut for Switzerland in a Euro 2012 qualifier against England.
