Adrian Mariappa is a defender of Crystal Palace. He was born on 3 October 1986 in a London suburb, England.
Adrian emerged through the youth system at Watford. He was a trainee of the club during many years and developed both his key defensive skills and secondary skills, which played a very important role in the footballer’s formation as a pro.
In 2005 Mariappa reached the professional level and was offered to join the main team of Watford. Adrian penned a long-term contract with the club, which was extended later, because he became one of the anchor players of defense. A year after the back joined the first squad, ‘The Hornets’ gained the promotion to the Premier League, where Mariappa got priceless experience by featuring in 16 games. The following year Watford was relegated to the Championship, but Adrian continued his successful performance for the club and scored four goals in 247 matches during seven years.
On 17 July 2012, the footballer completed a move to Reading.
One year later Mariappa was offered a deal with a Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Since 2012 Mariappa has been capped for the Jamaica national football team.
