Carlos Adriano de Souza Cruz is a striker of Brazilian origin who currently performs for Bahia. He is known among his friends as Adriano Michael Jackson.
The player was born on September 28, 1987 in Valença, Brazil. He commenced his football career with Ceará in 2007. Adriano’s debut season form impressed earning him 32 appearances where he managed to blast 13 goals. In 2009 America-RJ set their sights on the player and offered him a contract. However, that move didn’t prove to be a big success and in 2010 Adriano made the move to Fluminense. But the striker had to struggle for a regular place in the squad and subsequently was sent on loan to Bahia. During his loan spell the explosive striker scored 15 goals in 26 league outings and attracted many top-flight admirers, including the likes of Palmeiras. In 2011 the footballer joined Palmeiras on loan. On June 8, 2011 Dalian Shide reached an agreement with the Brazilian outfit. Adriano made his debut as a sub for Ahn Jung-Hwan against Chengdu Blades on June 14, 2011. On June 26, 2012 he showed a fantastic composure by netting 5 goals in an 8-0 thrashing of Yanbian Baekdu Tigers. Since 2013 he has been playing for native Bahia.
