Egyptian footballer Ahmed Shoukry was born on 21 July 1989 in Cairo. He currently plays as an attacking midfielder for heavyweights Al-Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League.
Ahmed was groomed in the youth system of Al-Ahly since 2004 till 2009. In October 2009, he was promoted to the first team of the club and made his debut in a Premier League match against Petrojet. Shoukry scored his maiden goal in a 4-2 win over Ittihad El-Shorta. His second goal came during the 2010 CAF Champions league in a game against Gunners. In the 2011/12 season, Shoukry was sent on loan to Telephonat Bani Sweif but returned to Al-Ahly shortly after the 2011/12 Egyptian League was cancelled following the Port Said Stadium disaster.
In 2008 and 2009, Ahmed Shoukry was a regular player for the Egypt U-20 national team and took part in the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup with them. Since 2010, he is capped to the senior Egyptian side.
