Aiden McGeady is a Scottish winger, who can also play as a striker. He was born on 4 April 1986 in Glasgow, Scotland.
In 2000, McGeady started training at the academy of Queen’s Park. He sparked interest of scouts from Celtic F.C., who convinced him to continue training at club’s academy in Glasgow. From 2001 to 2004 Aiden played with the juniors of Celtic and after that McGeady was offered to pledge his future to Celtic.
In the summer of 2004 Aiden signed a six-year deal with Celtic. During his 2004-2010 spell at the club McGeady became a regular player and appeared in 185 matches netting 35 goals.
In 2010, McGeady transferred to Spartak Moscow for a fee of €8 million. The club signed the player to a four-year contract. From 2010 to 2014 McGeady came on field 93 times and clinched 13 goals for Spartak.
In January 2014 McGeady returned to Britain signing a deal with Everton.
Since 2004 McGeady represents the Republic of Ireland football national team. He celebrated his international debut in the match against Jamaica in July 2004. On 26 March 2011 McGeady scored his first goal for Ireland in Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia.
