Akwasi Asante is a striker of Birmingham City. He was born on 6 September 1992 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Akwasi’s youth career took off in the academy of HFC Haarlem. The footballer performed for the U-13 squad of the club and drew the attention of Wednesbury Sports Union, which gave him an opportunity to move to England. In 2008, Birmingham City won Asante over to their academy and spent three years in the youth system before getting fully ready to make his professional début.
In 2011, the striker penned his first senior contract and began to adjust to the new atmosphere. In 2012, the management of Birmingham City sent Akwasi on loan to Northampton Town, where the footballer took part in four games and netted one goal during one month. After the end of his spell, Asante returned to his parent club, but failed to make any appearances for it as of January 2013. In 2013 Akwasi played for Shrewsbury Town on loan.
