Egyptian forward Al-Sayed Hamdy was born on 1 March 1984. At the beginning of his professional career, Al-Sayed played for Tanta before joining Petrojet in 2008. Overall, he scored 19 goals in 69 matches during a three-year stint at the club. In 2011, Hamdy signed a contract with the Egyptian heavyweights Al-Ahly and plays for them in the Egyptian Premier League.
Al-Sayed Hamdy is capped to the Egypt national team since 2009. He got off to a flying international start marking his debut against Guinea with a 92nd-minute assist for the third goal in a 3-3 draw. Hamdy cut a brilliant figure during the 2011 Nile Basin Tournament as he established himself as the top scorer of the competition that year.
