Alan Dunne is a defender of Millwall. He was born on 23 August 1982 in Dublin, Ireland.
In 1990, Alan joined the academy of Millwall and started to develop his skills in order to become a pro one day. The coaching staff of the youth system decided to put the footballer at the position of a defender, because he possessed good vision of the field all the necessary qualities for successful tackling. It took Dunne ten years to get fully ready for a professional level.
In 2000, the defender put pen to paper of his first senior contract with ‘The Lions’ and began to train with the main squad, as he needed to adapt to the new atmosphere. The head coach gave Alan a chance to take part in several fixtures during the footballer’s début season.
The following year, Dunne got more playing practice and became more confident at his position. The defender made 264 appearances and amassed 14 goals for Millwall as of January 2013.
