Alan Hutton is a back of Aston Villa. He was born on 30 November 1984 in Glasgow, Scotland.
In 2002 Alan became a professional player after penning a contract with Rangers. The footballer managed to gain the head coach’s confidence when he performed for youth teams of the club’s academy during two years. That is why Hutton was given an opportunity to take part in several matches, where he managed to show his best defensive qualities. However, the back was not a regular of the squad and had to make occasional appearances. During six years with the club, he featured in 94 games and netted two goals.
In 2008 Hutton drew the attention of London side Tottenham, which decided to secure his services. The same year Alan officially became a player of Spurs. The back came on the field rather often, and mostly in the starting line-up. From 2008 till 2010, the footballer made 51 appearances and fired two goals for the club.
In the summer 2010, the management of Spurs and its coaching staff decided the back would not be needed in the following 2010/2011 season. That is why Hutton went on a season-long loan to Sunderland and featured in 11 matches of the temporary club.
In the summer 2011, Alan sealed a permanent deal with Aston Villa, where he made over 30 appearances on the right flank of defense during the 2011/2012 season. After a loan spell with Nottingham Forest Alan joined Real Mallorca for the second half of 2012/2013 season.
From 2007, Hutton was capped 23 times for the Scotland national team.
