Albert Riera was born on April 15, 1982 in Manacor, Spain. In 1999 the winger started playing at the youth team of a Spanish club Mallorca RCD and later joined the senior squad.
Albert stayed at Mallorca till 2003, made 6 goals in 46 appearances and won the Copa del Rey. In the summer of 2003 the footballer was signed by the French Girondins de Bordeaux FC. The 2 seasons Albert Riera played for the club was marked with his 4 goals in 53 matches.
In 2005 the football player returned to Spain to perform for Espanyol RCD. In January 2006 he went to Manchester City FC (England) on loan, but was left out of the first team. In the season of 2006/2007 the winger featured for Espanyol RCD.
On September 1, 2008 Albert Riera signed a contract with Liverpool FC. He came in 40 times for the club and made 3 goals. On July 23, 2010 the footballer was transferred to Olympiacos FC (Greece) and scored a few goals for the team.
On September 3, 2011 Albert Riera was signed by a Turkish club Galatasaray and featured in 80 matches. In March 2014 the Spaniard was contracted by Udinese and loaned to Watford.
