Mexican footballer Alberto Medina Briseño was born on 29 May 1983 in Culiacán. Medina plays as a forward, besides he can be utilized both as a right wing and a left wing midfielder. In 2000 Alberto made his senior debut for Guadalajara. When Medina played at youth level, he was considered to be one of the most promising Mexican footballers. He was invited to join Borussia Dortmund, but Guadalajara rejected all the offers.
In 2003 Medina was selected for the Mexico national squad. He participated in the 2004 Olympic Games and in the 2005 Confederations Cup. In 2007 the footballer helped the national squad become the runner-up of the CONCACAF Gold Cup and win the third place in the Copa América. By 2009 many veterans had retired, that’s why Medina got a chance to come on the pitch more often. Under head coach Javier Aguirre the Mexico national team with Alberto Medina won the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
In July 2012 Medina moved from Guadalajara to Pachuca, and in 2013 the footballer completed a deal with Puebla. One year later he switched for Chiapas Jaguares.
