His career took off at a club named Rayo Majadahonda and in 2008 he was signed by a neighbouring side Rayo Vallecano. Garrido spent two complete seasons almost entirely on the bench. His professional debut came while performing on loan for a club named Navalcarnero that fell upon the second half of the season 2008/09. Regardless of the fact that Alejandro played at a low level he had a sufficient amount of playing time.
Arribas was of help for Rayo B in the season 2009/10 as he contributed to the side’s promotion to the Segunda B division. He moved towards the main squad step-by-step becoming a mature footballer. As a result Alejandro managed to appear in 38 out of 42 games of the season earning for his side a long-expected promotion to La Liga.
As Alejandro gained 74 appearances for Rayo Vallecano he decided to move further which he did joining Osasuna during the 2012 pre-season. After two years with Osasuna, Arribas moved to Sevilla.
