Alejandro Damián Domínguez is an Argentine footballer.
Alejandro got engaged in football when was 7 years old. He was brought up as a professional in such clubs as Quilmes and Lanus. In 2000 Alejandro started playing for the main squad of Quilmes where he scored 6 times in 25 matches. In 2001 Alejandro joined River Plate where he played for three years appearing in 29 games and scoring 9 goals.
On 1 February 2004 a Russian football club Rubin Kazan purchased Alejandro paying an estimated fee of €1.5 million. His debut in Europe came against ADO den Haag.
Ahead of the 2006/07 season, Alejandro’s transfer value increased and Zenit Saint Petersburg paid a transfer fee worth €7 million for the Argentine that became the priciest transfer inside the Russian championship at that time. On 12 March 2009, after two seasons in Saint Petersburg, Alejandro returned to Rubin signing a one-year contract.
In 2010 Domínguez moved to Valencia but after a rather unconvincing season with only 19 league appearances and no goals on his account the midfielder was loaned to an Argentine club River Plate where he played till 2012. In the summer of the same year he moved to Rayo Vallecano. In 2013 Dominguez moved to Greek champions Olympiacos.
