Alejandro Gómez is a winger of Metalist Kharkiv. He was born on 15 February, 1988 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Gómez began his professional career in 2005 after signing for Arsenal de Sarandí. He was a backup player until 2006 when he cemented his place in the starting eleven after the brilliant performances in the 2006 Apertura tournament. From 2005 to 2009 Alejandro played 77 matches and scored 16 goals for Arsenal de Sarandí.
In 2009 Alejandro decided to move to San Lorenzo, in which Gómez was one of the key players of the attacking lineup. In the 2009/10 season the Argentine striker was a regular in the starting lineup and scored 8 goals in 48 matches for San Lorenzo. His display at San Lorenzo sparked interest of European football scouts.
In the summer of 2010 Alejandro received an offer to join Italian Serie A side Catania. Gómez eagerly accepted the offer of a contract and soon joined the Elephants on a long-term contract. After moving to Catania Gómez managed to feature in 106 matches and score 16 goals.
In the summer 2013 the Argentine was invited to Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv.
In 2007 Alejandro Gómez was part of the Argentina U-20 team and participated in the 2007 South American Youth Championship in Paraguay.
