Aleksandar Ignjovski is a Serbian player, born on 27 January 1991 in Belgrade.
At the age of 7 he entered the OFK Beograd football academy. Aleksandar started playing as a left back, but subsequently focused on the whole defense area. Nevertheless, he currently plays as a midfielder. Before Ignjovski was promoted to the first squad of Beograd in 2008, he had displayed his abilities in the youth teams of the club. Due to his age Aleksandar didn’t become a regular starter for the club, so he managed make only 23 appearances during three seasons. However, the Serb found the net three times, which helped him reckon on the transfer to a larger club.
As such, in 2009 Ignjovski was loaned to TSV 1860 München, where he took part in 53 matches during almost two seasons. Thanks to his great performance at the club, Aleksandar was soon transferred to Werder Bremen, where he currently plays. The footballer signed a contract, running until 30 June 2014. He played his debut match on 10 September 2011, appearing on the pitch in the 90th minute as a substitute.
Ignjovski’s international debut came in 2009 for the Serbia national U-21 team. Starting from 2012 Aleksandar is a player of the Serbia senior squad. He debuted on 28 February 2012 in a friendly game versus Armenia.
