Aleksandr Filimonov is a retired footballer from Russia. He was born in 1973 in Yoshkar-Ola and began his professional career at FC Stal Cheboksary in 1990 but shortly after arrival he joined Druzhba Yoshkar-Ola. He appeared in 38 matches for them and moved to Fakel Voronezh in 1992, which played in recently formed Russian Premier League. Fakel was relegated and in 1994 Filimonov moved to Tekstilshchik Kamyshin, which played in the top division.
In 1996 he signed for Spartak Moscow, initially was the replacement for Ruslan Nigmatullin and then proved himself the first choice keeper. While he was playing for Spartak they won six consecutive Russian Premier League titles. In 2001 Filimonov had a spell at Dynamo Kyiv, then played for Uralan Elista and after that moved to FC Moscow, where initially he was the first-choice and then fell out of favor. In 2007/08 he played for the Cypriot team Nea Salamis. He returned to Russia and joined Kuban Krasnodar in 2008, in 2009/10 he played for Lokomotiv Tashkent and in 2012 joined Arsenal Tula.
Filimonov earned 16 caps for the Russia national team since his debut on 25 March 1998.
