Aleksei Berezutski is a defender who represents CSKA Moscow. He was born on 20 June 1982 in Moscow, Soviet Union.
He played at Smena football school before signing a professional contract with Torpedo-ZIL in 1999. Aleksei was used mainly as a back-up option during his 1999-2000 stay at the club. In 2001 he was loaned out to Chernomorets. He and his twin brother Vasili were soon offered a move to CSKA Moscow. The Berezutski brothers agreed to pledge their future to CSKA. Aleksei was a regular player of the squad, which won the 2005 UEFA Cup. Thanks to his brilliant performance in 2005, Berezutski established himself as one of the best defenders in the Russian Premier League. Since 2001 Aleksei Berezutski featured in over 250 games for CSKA Moscow.
Aleksei has pedigree at international level, has played regularly for the Russia national squad since 2003. He has won over 50 international caps so far.
