Alessandro Gamberini is an Italian central defender.
Groomed at his hometown club Bologna, Alessandro made his first team and Serie A debut for Bologna in 1999. He spent five successful seasons with the team, excluding the 2002/03 season loan at Verona, amassing 78 appearances in total.
After Bologna relegated to Serie B at the end of the 2004/05 campaign, Gamberini decided to try his luck at Fiorentina. He cemented his place as a first-choice defender in the second season with the club. With the Viola Alessandro scored his maiden goal, and more precisely two goals (as it was a brace), in a 5-1 home win over Torino in March 2007. Thanks to his constantly good club performances, Gamberini got a captain’s armband in July 2011.
In July 2012, Alessandro Gamberini signed for fellow Serie A side Napoli and featured in 25 matches during the season.
Gamberini was loaned to Genoa for the season 2013/2014. Later on he penned a permanent deal with Chievo.
He featured for the Italy U20 and U21 squads in between 2000 and 2004. From 2007 to 2009, Gamberini Gamberini made 8 appearances for the Italy national team.
