Alessio Scarpi is a former goalkeeper. He was born on 19 April 1973 in Jesolo, Italy.
Alessio began his professional career in 1995 when he penned a contract with Reggina. Scarpi had been playing for Amaranto during two years and managed to take part in 65 fixtures being the team’s regular goalkeeper.
In 1997 Alessio returned to his parent club Cagliari. Since 1997 to 2001 the Italian had been the team’s first-choice goalkeeper and player in 130 matches.
In January 2002 Scarpi moved to Ancona and stayed there until the summer 2002 taking part in 14 fixtures. In 2002 the goalkeeper became the player of Inter Milan but was unable to play in at least one match of the team and was loaned back to Ancona where he took part in 50 more fixtures.
In 2004 the Italian penned a long-term contract with Genoa which has been prolonged several times. Scarpi performed as backup keeper but despite this had played in 92 matches. In 2012 he retired.
