Alessio Sestu plays as a midfielder for Chievo Verona. He was born on September 29, 1983 in Rome, Italy.
Sestu began his youth career at the academies of Lazio, Sora and Modena. Then he moved to Treviso football academy where he finally prepared to start his professional career.
In the summer 2003 Sestu signed his first contract with Südtirol for which he played in 15 matches in the 2003/2004 season. In 2004 he returned to Treviso, where he trained at the academy. The 2004/2005 season was not a success for Sestu and in the following year he was loaned to Cittadella where the midfielder spent a complete season, scoring 4 goals in 35 matches.
In January 2006 Sestu was on loan to Mantova, where he took part in 7 games for half a year. In summer 2006 he moved to Salernitana, where he played in 30 matches and kicked 8 goals in the 2006/2007 season. In 2007 Alessio Sestu was loaned to Avellino. He played successfully in 39 matches and scored one goal.
In January 2008 Sestu signed a permanent contract with Avellino and spent the rest of the season in this team. In the summer 2008 the midfielder joined Reggina, for which he took part in 17 games during one season.
In the summer 2009 Sestu started his career in Vicenza, where he spent half a year, scoring one goal in 15 matches. In January 2010 the footballer was on loan to Bari but he played only in 3 matches for this team. In the summer 2010 he was bought by Siena and signed a permanent contract with this Italian football club. Sestu was given a chance to unlock his potential and made his best to become the key midfielder.
In the summer 2013 Sestu was offered a contract with Serie A side Chievo Verona.
