Alejandro ‘Álex’ Bergantiños García was born in June 1985 in A Coruña, Spain. Currently he plays for Deportivo de La Coruña as a central midfielder.
His youth playing career started in Deportivo La Coruña, where he went on with reserves and signed with the first team in 2008. Álex was loaned to Xerez CD and there he became a key player as his team for the first time reached the first division. He appeared in 31 matches for the team and started 21 out of them.
In August 2009, he moved to Xerez CD for one more season loan and made his La Liga debut on 30 August, when played thirty minutes in a 0–2 defeat to RCD Mallorca. Nevertheless, by the end of the season Xerez CD was relegated from the first division.
The 2010/11 season, Álex Bergantiños started with the second division team Granada CF, where he played on loan until January 2011, when he moved to Gimnàstic de Tarragona, the team of the same division.
In summer 2012, he returned to Deportivo de La Coruña.
