Alex Pearce is a back of Reading. He was born on 9 November 1988 in Oxford, England.
In 2001 Pearce went on a trial to the academy of Reading, where his fitness and correspondence to the youth system level were checked. After the footballer passed all necessary tests, he was included in one of the club’s youth squads, where Alex did not stay for long. The back perfected his defensive skills year after year and cruised through various youth teams till 2006, when it was time to become a pro.
Pearce penned a professional contract with Reading in 2006, but the management decided to send him on loan half a year later, so that Alex could gain more performing experience needed for his development. Northampton Town put pen to paper of a six-month loan deal with the footballer, who made 15 appearances and found the net one time till the summer 2007.
The next stop of his performance on loan was Bournemouth, where Pearce played during half a year and featured in 11 matches. In January 2007, Alex went on loan to Norwich City for the same spell and made the same number of appearances. In the summer 2008, the footballer completed a six-month loan move to Southampton, where he took part in nine games and fired two goals.
In 2008 Pearce was capped two times for the Scotland national U-21 team. However, he preferred the Republic of Ireland for his senior career.
