Alexis Ruano Delgado was born in 1985 in Málaga, Spain. Currently he is a Getafe central defender.
He is Málaga’s youth ranks graduate. Alexis started his senior career in Málaga’ reserve team and then played for the first squad until he switched to Getafe CF for the 2006/07 season. The following season Ruano joined Valencia CF on a €6.5m contract but spent the major part of the 2007/08 season aside because of the knee injury, nevertheless he scored two goals in the final of the 2008 Spanish Cup, helping his team to win it.
At the end of August 2010, Alexis Ruano moved to Sevilla FC signing a six-year deal for a fee of €5m. During his first season with the club he featured in 21 league matches and they finished fifth and got qualification to the UEFA Europa League. In February 2012, Ruano was sent on loan to his former club Getafe CF and later the loan deal was extended for the 2012/13 season. At the end of the spell he signed a permanent deal.
