Alexis Sánchez is a forward, born on December 19, 1988 in Tocopilla, Chile.
Alexis began his professional career at Cobreloa FC in 2005. It was his first club he has ever signed a professional contract with. During the 2005/06 season Sánchez appeared in 47 matches for the club and scored 12 goals.
Next season Alexis drew the attention of Udinese Calcio and they decided to buy the Chilean. The Italian club paid 3 mln dollars for the player and signed a long-term contract with Sánchez. However, the club only wanted to own the player at that time but they were not prepared to include him in the main squad. The same year Alexis joined the Chilean Colo Colo on loan where he appeared in 22 matches and scored 5 goals.
Alexis also played on loan in the 2007/08 season. His new club was River Plate from Argentina where Sánchez played for a year, featured in 23 matches and scored 4 goals.
In 2009, Sánchez came back to the Italian club to make fully fledged appearances in the main squad. By 2011 Sánchez had played in 95 matches for the club and scored 20 goals.
In 2011, the Italian club got an offer from FC Barcelona. The transfer cost Barcelona 11 mln euros and was finished within short time. The footballer signed a long-term contract with the Catalan club and netted 47 goals in 141 matches.
In the summer 2014 Sanchez completed a move to Arsenal.
In 2007, Alexis appeared in 12 matches for the Chile U-20 national team. And since 2006 Alexis has been a key player of the Chile national team.
