A French footballer Alexis Thebaux was born on 17 March 1985 in Les Sables-d’Olonne. He’s a goalkeeper of French club Brest.
In 2001, after preliminary tests, Alexis gave his football career a start. He impressed scouts of Nantes with his power and accuracy, so he was taken to its academy. There he was learning the ropes of soccer up until 2004.
After years spent at the youth department, the goalkeeper made a move to the senior team of the club. His first professional contract was signed for a term of a year, until 2005. However, he wouldn’t become a regular in the first team and his first season was lined up with a single appearance. But Alexis kept his pecker up and waited for the better time to come.
In 2005, he was spotted by Cherbourg, which promised the young player a very tempting contract with a place in the starting line-up. So Thebaux agreed on a year-long deal with the club. He began to make occasional appearances. The head coach gave him a chance to gain the playing experience by letting on the field as a starter. He played 18 matches during the 2005/2006 season.
In 2006, Alexis moved to Dijon, which turned to be the club that couldn’t make him a star over night. That period in his career was spent on the bench as unused sub.
This day twelvemonth, the Frenchman got an offer from Caen, which suited him perfectly and so he took it without hesitation. He managed 4 fabulous seasons with the club, having played 77 games.
In the summer 2012, he joined Brest from Ligue 1.
His first cap for the France national U-21 team came in 2005.
