Almog Cohen is an Israeli football player born on September 1, 1988 in Be’er Sheva and currently playing as a defensive midfielder for FC Ingolstadt.
Cohen started his football career with Beitar Tubruk in 1998 and in 2006 joined Maccabi Netanya. He went on playing for Maccabi senior team where he spent 4 seasons, during which he made 89 appearances and scored 8 goals.
In spring 2010, the midfielder signed a three-year contract with FC Nürnberg and was immediately trusted a position in the first squad. He already featured in the starting line-up for the third round match with Hamburger SV. And it was Hamburger SV Almog netted a goal to making it 2-0 win on January 28, 2011. In April 2011, the midfielder prolonged his agreement with FC Nürnberg till 2014. In 2013 he was sent on loan to Hapoel Tel Aviv. Upon returning from Israel Cohen completed a move to FC Ingolstadt.
In 2007, Almog Cohen was capped for the Israel national under-21 football team but he didn’t manage to make a single goal in 17 appearances for it. On September 2, 2010, the midfielder was called up to the senior international squad of his country. His debut for this team occurred during the UEFA European Football Championship qualification campaign when they played in the match versus Malta national team. That match ended in 3-1 for Israel. Since then he has got his regular spot in the first eleven of the national team.
