Ander Herrera is a Spanish midfielder.
He started his career playing for the youth teams of Zaragoza and Amistad. In 2008 he was sent to Zaragoza to play for their reserve team. That season he made 20 appearances and managed to score twice.
His first game in La Liga was against Tenerife on August 29, 2012 when he substituted Jermaine Pennant on the 71st minute. The first goal came in a match against Mallorca on the 6th of December. The whole season was Herrera’s breakthrough as he played in 30 games scoring once. The development of his talent in the following season resulted in 2 goals in 33 matches, so in 2011 Athletic bought the footballer. Playing for the club from Bilbao, Herrera turned into one of the gems in Spnish football. He played 128 games and scored 11 goals during three seasons. In the summer 2014 Manchester United sealed the services of the 24-year old.
As for his career in the national team, Ander took part in the games of the national U-20 team that allowed him to participate in the World Cup in Egypt. He spent 4 games and scored twice during the whole tournament.
Herrera also scored twice in the European football championship of 2011. Taking part in all the games of the national team his shots reached the goal in the matches against England and Switzerland.
