A Brazilian footballer Ânderson Corrêa Polga is a retired central defender. He was born on 9 February 1979 in Santiago.
Anderson spent his youth career studying at academies of various Brazilian clubs, but the last years of his junior career passed at the youth department of Grêmio. In the summer 1999, the footballer put pen to paper of contract and officially became a player of Grêmio. Unfortunately, Polga had never been able to become the head coach’s first choice, appearing on the field only sporadically. In total, the defender made 64 appearances and scored two goals for the first team.
In the summer 2003, a move to Sporting Clube de Portugal happened. Anderson was happy with the fact that he wouldn’t have a difficult period of adaptation as he joined Spanish spoken club. After a short spell with Corinthians Polga retired at the age od 33.
Since 2002 until 2003, Polga was capped 11 times for the Brazil national team. He netted three overall goals for the squad.
