André Castro Pereira is a Portuguese midfielder of Porto.
Castro joined Porto´s youth system when he was only 11 years old. In 2007 he helped his side to conquer the junior championship.
On 2 February 2008 Castro made his top division debut for Porto when he replaced Paulo Assunção for the last 11 minutes. For the rest of the season the midfielder made two official appearances.
In the next two seasons Castro was on loan to Olhanense. In his first season he helped the Portuguese side to return to the Primeira Liga after more than 30 years of absence. Due to his numerous achievements in the second season Castro was named the Country´s Best Young Player because he kicked 6 goals in 28 matches and his club retained its division status.
In the 2010/2011 season Castro returned to Porto however the new manager André Villas-Boas imposed too many requirements on him as on virtually all Portuguese footballers. In January 2011, when the footballer amassed 106 minutes in 6 official matches, he was sent on loan to the Spanish club Sporting de Gijón. He made his debut in La Liga in a week playing 1 minute against Atlético Madrid.
Nevertheless Castro managed to play regularly for the Asturians, starting in 11 matches and netting against Mallorca and Getafe.
In the middle of August 2011 another loan was arranged between Gijón and Porto.
In the season 2013/2014 Castro played for a Turkish side Kasimpasa.
