A Portuguese footballer André Filipe Monteiro Vilas Boas plays as a defensive midfielder for Rio Ave. He was born on 4 June 1983 in Vila do Conde.
André started his professional career at Rio Ave. He had spent a year with the club, before he was sent on loan to Porto. At first Boas performed for the reserves, where he improved his playing level. In 2004, he started making occasional appearances as a first team’s player. In total, he appeared 41 times and scored one goal for the temporary squad as a sub. In the summer 2010, Marítimo bought out his contract. But Boas made no appearances at all for the new team and was eventually loaned to Portimonense. He spent the second half of the 2010/2011 season with the club, appearing 4 times.
In the summer 2011, André was back to Rio Ave, where he had begun his professional career. He continues to make rare appearances as the squad’s starter.
