Andrea Dossena is a left-back, born on 11 September 1981 in Lodi, Italy.
Andrea signed his first contract with Verona. After 4 seasons at the Mastiffs Dossena was signed by Treviso in a co-ownership deal and made 21 appearances for the club.
In 2006 Udinese signed Andrea in a co-ownership deal with Treviso. A year later Bianconeri extended Dossena’s contract until 2010. In October 2007 Dossena debuted for Italy national team in a friendly match against South Africa.
In the summer of 2008 Liverpool purchased Andrea for €7.2 million. Dossena wasn’t able to gain a foothold in the starting lineup and made only 2 appearances in English Premier League for Liverpool. The Reds even wanted to sell Dossena for measly €2.2 million to Zenit Saint Petersburg to buy out Norwegian forward Erik Huseklepp. But in January 2010 Andrea was loaned out to Napoli for €4.25 million and has scored 3 goals in 59 matches for the Azzurri to date. In January 2013 Andrea was sent on loan to Palermo.
In September 2013 Dossena accepted an offer from Paolo Di Canio and joined Sunderland till the summer 2014.
Since 2007 Andrea Dossena has represented the Italy national team.
