José Andrés Guardado Hernández was born in 1986 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Currently he plays for a Spanish side Valencia CF as a left winger.
A Mexican footballer, he began his youth playing career at Club Atlas, where he went on his senior career. Guardado spent two seasons there, playing in the top division and in July 2007 he switched to Deportivo de La Coruña for €7m and the club got 75% of player’s rights.
Guardado made his first La Liga appearance on 26 August. That match ended in a 0-3 loss at UD Almería. During his first season with the Spanish club he appeared in 26 games and scored five goals. He proved himself as a key-player nevertheless appeared in 20 matches during the 2010/11 season and they suffered relegation for the first time during 20 years. At the end of May 2012, Guardado moved to Valencia CF signing a four-year contract.
Since 2005 Andrés Guardado represents the Mexico national team. The first match he featured in was a friendly against Hungary on 14 December 2005. He helped the team to win the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
