Andrés Palop Servera is a Spanish reserve goalkeeper of Bayer Leverkusen.
He started his professional career in Valencia CF where he was shadowed by Santiago Cañizares and he started to play as the main keeper at Sevilla.
His star rose in the match against FC Shakhtar Donetsk. The score in the injury time was 2-1 with Shakhtar’s lead but Andres managed to score an equalizer from the corner the Spanish side earned. During the extra times Sevilla managed to score once again and pass into the next round.
Playing against Espanyol Palop managed to stop 3 shots from the penalty spot in the shootout and owing to this the team triumphed in the UEFA Cup for the second time in a row. Andres was called the best player of the tournament.
In 2013 the 39-year old joined Bayer Leverkusen as a reserve goalkeeper.
In 2008 Andrés Palop wasn’t involved in a single match of the national team in the UEFA European Championship but gained the trophy anyway.
